* Alan and I had our ninth anniversary this week. :o) We had a sitter today and walked around the corner to a restaurant we've been wanting to try. It was nice, and the girls had a great time with the sitters--not one but two sisters were here to play with the girls.
* The volcano ash cloud appears to have cleared. Last week, there was a brown haze over the town for a few days. Blech. But the sky is clear and blue again now.
* Spring seems (fingers crossed) finally to have come. It was outright warm today. The girls enjoyed their first "water day" of the year today: swimsuits, sandbox, sprinklers. The beach it ain't. But they seem to enjoy it.
* My mom is coming back in late May! She will be here for her birthday, and she says that she wants to go to Tobolino for her birthday. And the girls say that they think that's a great choice. I sense a conspiracy. But I can prove nothing. Hmmmmmmmm.
Update (Sunday, 25 April, 2010):
It was 75 degrees out today. The kids slathered themselves in sunblock, and Meggie panted that it was "tooooooo hot" and wilted in the shade. If ever a child was made to live in the Subarctic...
