Anybody recognize that violin? :o) *

Sometimes... despite our best intentions, it's hard to be positive. And sometimes, despite having so much, it's hard to show gratitude.
Last week, Meggie had a rough day. One misunderstanding and misstep was compounded by another, until she was tearing up as we pulled into the parking lot. While we were still in the car the floodgates opened, just as the violin teacher showed up. Seeing Meggie was upset, he offered to let her skip the lesson.
But she decided to try anyway and ended up playing a triumphant Ode to Joy, reminding me that no matter how late in the day (and no matter how bad), there's still time to make a joyful noise.
Even on our tough days, the Bamalaskan girls have a lot to be thankful for.
* Do you recognize it? Cousin Jessica, I bet you do! It's Jessica's violin from when she was younger. :o) It's actually too big for Meggie, but she decided to upgrade herself frm a 1/4 violin to this 1/2 a few weeks ago. The teacher is letting her use it, because she enjoys it more, even though she won't really grow into it for another few months. Aunt Mila and Uncle Jesse, thank you so much for sending this! Jessica, thank you so much for handing down your violin. It's still much loved.
** Yes, she got sidetracked and lost her place in the middle but played her way out of it. It's never too late... :o)
All our love,
