Is this the future?

Hello, all. Hope things are going well where you are. We are having beautiful weather. Alan and Meggie spent the Fourth of July outside clearing the last of the rocks out of the middle of the yard. I will probably post some pictures of yard progress soon. It's so much improved. I told Alan, "What it really needs is a blue tarp and a bunch of rocks in the middle." He said, "Right. Very funny."

Meggie is doing well. She likes to read books. Her favorite books are number books. She likes to count all the objects, and between each book, she likes to arrange them into stacks. Although her verbal development is on target, I think she is most focused on her mechanical and physical skills. She likes to climb onto chairs now. Especially to get to the computer. (Argh!)

"Move along. There's nothing to see here."

Her favorite toys are mechanically focused. She especially likes this tool truck.

She can use the wrench and the screwdriver to turn the bolts on the wheels. She would rather play with something like this or with blocks than with a musical toy.

Of course she still does things in a girly way. This is Meggie's pink tool bag.

Is this the woman of the future? A wrench, a screwdriver and a hammer in a hot-pink purse.
