Posted pictures below. Thanks, Momma G, for taking them.
You always hear about the "terrible twos," and I think the age is aptly named. But, you know, this is a difficult age. Meggie is often frustrated by a discord between her desires and perceived abilities and every one else's ideas. After all, she's just demonstrating her agility when she hops up on the kitchen table and daddy rudely snatches her down. She's only showing her creativity and appreciation for food uses by painting the Milky Way on the table by extruding her milk from the sippy cup and then spreading the liquid with her fingers. Why does an inappreciative (and inartistic) mommy have to scold her and confiscate her materials? It's just not easy.
Meggie aired her displeasure to us a couple of nights ago. We were sitting at the dinner table, and Meggie turned to Alan, pointed at him and said, "Daddy not nice." She then went around the table and said that each of us (except Paw Paw, who had been plying her with Goldfish crackers) was "not nice." "Why aren't we nice?" I asked her. She just pushed out her lower lip and restated her sad situation, "Daddy not nice. ... Meggie crying."
Poor Meggie. It's tough to be two.
