Later tonight I'll post some recent pictures of her doing some "work": painting. Also tomorrow we plan to go as a family to Anchorage's Fur Rendezvous (aka Fur Rondy) -- a two-week winter festival. There's a carnival, dog-mushing, snow sculptures, ice skating and more. I might have some interesting Anchorage pictures after that.
Second, here's a quick overview of the posts that could have been but never were. Mostly because I'm very lazy lately:
Wailing wind and gnashing of teeth
About how much of our valley and most of the neighboring town lost power on Super Bowl Sunday. It was suuuuuuuper. We ended up going to a party at someone's house, though, so we didn't have to stay in our unpowered, unheated house for the entire day. Could've lit the wood stove and had a good time, of course. But we would've missed the game like some of our friends did. The party was really fun. Almost everyone there had young children. The toddlers were fun to watch as they vied for the best toys. Now there's a contact sport.Slip sliding away
About all the warm weather we've been having lately. (It's 47 degrees right now! Crazy.) The warmth melted much of our snow and created a ice sheet ... pretty much everywhere. The steep part of our driveway is unusable. Last time Alan "took" the the trash out he just put the cans at the top of the hill and watched them race down to the bottom on their own. Of course, afterward he had carefully edge down the shallower side of the driveway to get the cans out of the middle of the road.Bouncing baby
About my first ultrasound. Couldn't see much, but baby appears to be well. And very wiggly. The doc said, "Wow! This kid's a wiggler!" It was so cool.Miscellany
About Meggie's ears ... a new ear infection we're currently treating with drops. It's not severe, though, and it's been a long time since her last one, so the doc thinks she's turning a corner. We think so too. And about other stuff going on with us -- work, work work -- nothing very interesting.Hope all is well with you!
love,
