And here we are in Arizona. We took this on the run while doing errands around our prospective neighborhood and registering the girls for their new school. We hope to get into our little house sometime next week (fingers crossed).
So far, Arizona agrees with us all pretty well. We're cramped in the hotel, but the girls can swim in the hotel pool in the mornings and evenings. When we get into the house, we'll be able to go to the community pool during the day until the girls start school. Then, we'll be able to swim in the evenings. The neighborhood has a swim team, so eventually they may have even more opportunity.
The weather hasn't really been bad at all. It's true what they say about "dry heat." It's hot, but you're not drenched in sweat. And it's pleasant in the evenings. I'm sure there must be mosquitoes around here somewhere, but we haven't seen them yet. Yay!
What we have seen are lots of other animals. Jackrabbits and ground squirrels. Quail, roadrunners, lizards and hummingbirds. It's good to see them.
Our neighborhood here won't be as wild as our neighborhood in Alaska, but we'll have a quiet backyard where the girls can play and garden. There are lots of places to hike nearby. We're a few minutes' drive from a national park, so there will be lots of opportunities for the bamalaskazonians ;o) to get out into nature. More soon.
Hope your week is going well!
