Would you believe it?

We just came back from the store, where we were picking up antibiotics and buying presents for a beautiful baby who is about to be adopted from China.

Turns out that Meggie has another ear infection, and we had no idea. This is the second -- that we know of. The antibiotics are for her. We decided a while ago to schedule Meggie to have tubes put in her ears. She is allergic to something -- who knows what in this state (allergies run high here). Although her daily antihistamine works great, when her nose does run the fluid pools in her little ears. It affects her balance and makes her uncomfortable sometimes. And of course, it increases the chance of ear infection drastically. So, we decided to be proactive and have the procedure done. Her surgical appointment is next week, and I had scheduled today's appointment as a precaution. I wanted to make sure she was in good shape for the surgery and especially that the ears weren't a problem. And sure enough, both ear drums were red. Makes me glad that we have decided to do this procedure even though, at her age, it is not yet required. The surgery will clear the fluid and help the ears to drain in future.

Still, she's a happy tot. Wobbling all around today. And using her new favorite sign for "food." That kid sure can eat.
