Today a co-worker gave me a copy of "Wild Critters," a wonderful book he wrote. It's a collection of children's poems about wild animals. And in it, I found the first two verses of an aptly titled poem:The terrible twos
Oh, cubs of mine, cubs of mine,
to grow up strong and sound
and be a bear you have to walk
with four feet on the ground.
But, Mama dear, oh Mama dear,
aren't bears allowed to choose
if they want to run on fours
or walk around on twos?
to grow up strong and sound
and be a bear you have to walk
with four feet on the ground.
But, Mama dear, oh Mama dear,
aren't bears allowed to choose
if they want to run on fours
or walk around on twos?
He inscribed it, "to the ... 'wild critter.' " I thought that was great.
